“POST FATA RESURGO” (dopo la morte torno ad alzarmi).
Con queste parole, nel VIII sec. a.C., lo storico greco Erodoto descrive il mito dell’Araba Fenice che risorge dalle proprie ceneri. Oggi quelle ceneri altro non sono che polvere, calcinacci, escrementi, carcasse di animali, rottami, ruggine, in una sola parola, resti di ciò che è stato. Ma anche memorie, ricordi, frammenti di Storia e di storie familiari sepolti sotto cumuli di indifferenza, dimenticati. Il palazzo è un grembo in cui i secoli hanno depositato sulle fondamenta il loro passaggio. L’intervento vuole essere una risposta al grido d’aiuto del palazzo e al suo lento processo di decadenza nel tempo. Il forte senso di fragilità e precarietà che avvolge tutti gli spazi contrasta con le opere e l'istallazione che sottolineano la volontà di restituire alla città i suoi ruderi, riscattandoli e tramite essi dar prova della possibilità di una rinascita culturale.
"POST FATA RESURGO" (Rising after death).
With these words, in the VIII B.C., the historian Herodotus describes the myth of the Phoenix rising from it Today those ashes are nothing more than dust, debris, excreta, animal carcasses, rust, in a word, the remains of what was. But even memories, fragments of history and family stories buried under heaps of indifference, forgotten. The palace is a womb in which the centuries have marked the signs of their passage. The project is a response to the cry for help of the building and its slow process of decay through time. The strong sense of fragility and uncertainty that surrounds all spaces contrasts with the works and the installation that emphasize the desire to give the city its ruins, rescuing them and using them to demonstrate the possibility of a cultural renaissance.
